Psychotherapy for Individuals and Relationships
My psychotherapy practice is based on the best psychotherapy science, from which we know the therapy relationship and the fit between client and therapist are strongly related to seeing benefits from therapy. A number of psychotherapy theories have had an influence on my development, but my approach is primarily informed by psychodynamic, interpersonal process, humanistic-existential, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and feminist-multicultural approaches. From interpersonal and attachment lenses, integrated within a trauma-informed and feminist-multicultural framework, I work with clients to help them identify how their past has shaped them, and how to create a future that works better for them.

Now licensed in New York, Georgia, Tennessee, Illinois, and registered for Telehealth in Florida and Arizona.
My work as a therapist is rooted in cultural responsiveness, anti-oppression, and affirmation. I believe therapy is a space where you can feel truly seen, supported, and safe to explore yourself and your relationships. Together, we’ll look at how your inner world and the world around you intersect, and how those dynamics may shape the challenges you’re facing. My goal is to walk alongside you as you build healthier connections—with yourself and with others—and move toward the changes you hope for.
I work collaboratively with individuals from all backgrounds, including racially and ethnically diverse communities, to support their personal goals for growth and change. In session, I strive to create a caring, nonjudgmental, and safe space where clients can explore and better understand themselves, their challenges, and their strengths. I bring experience with a wide range of concerns, with particular expertise in:
-
Addiction and substance use (individuals struggling with these concerns, as well as working with their loved ones)
-
Trauma and recovery
-
High-stress or high-pressure careers
-
Graduate students, faculty, and others navigating the pressures of academia
-
Sexual orientation and gender identity (LGBTQIA+)
-
The impact of racism, sexism, and other forms of oppression
At the heart of my work is a deep commitment to antiracism and social justice. As an educator, scholar, and researcher, my work focuses on culturally responsive psychotherapy, equitable training for therapists, and addressing racial and economic inequities in higher education.
Although I’m now based in New York, I’m grateful to remain connected with the Aguirre Center for Inclusive Psychotherapy in Atlanta. Having lived in Georgia, Florida, North Louisiana, Oklahoma, and my home state of Pennsylvania, I know firsthand how stressful transitions can be—and I bring that understanding into my work with clients navigating change.
